Happy Halloween!

Today was amazing!  Such a welcome change from yesterday!  Even though we all slept in big time (that usually equals a bad start for me since I like to get up early) It didn't even phase me.   I like to think that the Lord knows how much I love Halloween and gave me some special attention today. Thank you!! El got up and fixed his costume.   Poor guys is so stressed about school and the 10 days that he will be away from it, that he can't even really be that excited for Hawaii yet, even though it is about 4 days away!  I don't even know how the time has gone by so fast.  Gosh!  Story of my life it seems.  But after we got the kids dressed and had the latest breakfast/brunch we headed out and ran to to a halloween store, one of my favourite things to do for halloween.  Today was technically the last day to go, and it was so much fun!  We treated ourselves to a little McDonalds and Carls Junior on the way home, but I don't feel guilty about it.  It was lovely!

After lunch, I got Natalie dressed up in her pink princess costume and we went over to the main library's Halloween block party!  It was so much fun!  Games and crafts and story time and lots and lots of trick or treating.  Just the best.  Even better than last year I think if I remember correctly.

This smile is so contagious as Ray put it.  I really can't help but break out into the largest smile just looking at her

in the glow in the dark room with the glow in the dark singing ghost AND her glow bracelet.  This was a very cool place she decided!

meeting some very friendly cops

We then ran to the library to drop off and pick up, and smiths to grab some last minute stuff for dinner.  I then rushed home and made some sweet and sour chicken, Els favourite dish.  We got dressed in her mermaid costume this time, but with Anna's cape and a sparkly tiara, so she looked more like a regal princess, which she thought was awesome!  We headed out to E street in the aves for some great trick or treating.  I swear they should just call it halloween street during the month, cause its so amazing.  There was a haunted house again, all kinds of decorations.  The street literally rang with spooky halloween tunes and glowed orange from all the lights. It was so great! She had so much fun and did such a great job saying "plick or pleet"  I don't ever want her to grow up!

And the candy!

A beautiful autumn day

It was so beautiful today.  The weather was amazing, it looked amazing, but unfortunately I was just having one of the worst days ever.  I was so agitated and irritable all day, and I couldn't figure out why.  Everything just seemed off.  The kids were also a bit fussy at times, and that definitely triggered the irritability.  I felt so bad and guilty that I was feeling this way, I even tried praying.  It helped a bit, but not enough to save my day.  I suppose I needed to put forth more effort on my end, but I just didn't have it in me today.  But I did try and counter it by taking the kids for a lovely walk through Memory Grove and let them explore.  Ben is also getting sick, so he was pretty fussy and tired all day, poor guy.  But he did manage to forget his woes for long enough to enjoy some fun time with his brother and sister.

Our newly carved pumpkins out on display

I love this face more than I can possibly ever describe.  Looking at it alone, makes me feel better instantaneously!

As much as I long for a house in a kid friendly neighborhood, I do have to admit that our neighborhood presently is absolutely beautiful and we really are truly blessed!

She really wanted to hold onto one of her brothers leashes, and both of them got such a kick out of it, I had to snap a picture

They absolutely loved walking through the leaves and hearing them crunch under their little feet.  All three of them!

The loves of my life.

missed play group but still lots of fun!

Today was another pretty cool day.  Play group was held at the dinosaur park and I spent the morning debating whether we should head back to the dinosaur park or opt out for a real park today.  But the dinosaur park won out. It was chilly again, and Natalie really wanted to go again, so we got all bundled up and made the beautiful autumn walk there. It was fun, but we were pretty late so I think we missed the majority of it.  We got there during the tail end, but thats okay.  We came home and El was home on a break, sick again.  He just can't seem to knock this cold of his.  But I made grilled cheese sandwhiches, since it seemed fitting being such a cool day out.  Natalie is doing much better too, with no diarrhea in the past couple days so yay!  Probably way too much info, so sorry for those week of stomachs haha.  Nap went well, and I made halloween cupcakes.  Some for our neighbours, and some for Julie who I visit teach.  The kids and El loved eating them and the night was wonderful!  We watched a sesame street halloween movie and learned all about pumpkins and halloween, not that they haven't already got halloween overload this whole month.  What can I say?  I love this holiday!

our fun and chilly warm walk to our play group at City Creek dinosaur park.  Great day today!

playtime in the bathtub

One of Laddy's temper tantrums while Natalie had her bath.  Don't even know what he was crying about, but I think he may have wanted a cup cake, and he had just had one, so I had said no

Natalie got all our pots and pans and wanted to play drum kit. So she was drumming on the pots and pans, and made me sing into the comb aka "micaphone" and we both sang the ABC's.  I am so proud of her today because we have been practicing so much and she finally got to G!  yay!!!  Love this little girl so much it hurts!

Dinosar park adventrues

Today was a bit cool, so we decided to head to the dinosaur park instead of an actual park outside. It was super fun! We did our typical routine today after. Nothing super exciting happening today.  Natalie did play with her playdough before bedtime and made the cutest little flowers.  She stuck straws into her playdough and called them flowers.  I love it!
